FORT KENT – The Northern Maine Medical Center Foundation raised $24,000 at its first dinner and silent auction.

The event was organized by Les Belles, a group of women with an interest in development of the hospital and its affiliated operations.

Members of the group include co-chairs Faiza Ansari and Patricia Husain, as well as Elaine Bayani, Beril Bayrak-Bulucu, Melissa Charette, Gabriela Cherascu, Lisa Cote, Robin Damboise, Elizabeth dela Torre, CarolAnne Dube, Lisa Eno, Kathryn Harris, Essie Pelletier, Nancy Raymond, Jane Rioux, Sandra San Antonio, Simona Suchan and Homa Vargai.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Foundation’s Cardiac Monitor Project, which has purchased new cardiac monitors for use in the emergency room, intensive care unit and telemetry.

Event sponsors included Acadia Medical Supply, Fort Kent Federal Credit Union, Irving Woodlands, KeyBank, McDonald’s restaurant, Dr. Michael A.
