Maine State Police are seeking a man whose vehicle rolled over on Interstate 95 on Monday night in Orono.

Trooper Forrest Simpson said a witness reported seeing two men flee the scene of the accident, which occurred at about 7:30 p.m. under the Kelley Road overpass at Exit 50. Simpson said police found one of the men, Daniel Chase, in the bushes on Kelley Road. Chase had a number of active arrest warrants.

Simpson said a K-9 unit tracked the other man into Veazie but lost the scent when it started to rain. He believes the man is injured, due to the amount of blood at the scene.

There were a number of medications in the vehicle and a loaded handgun on the ground nearby. Construction tools were scattered on the road after the vehicle evidently struck a guardrail and flipped several times, Simpson said.

Simpson said police are looking for the registered owner of the vehicle, Charles Tringale, 38, formerly of Alton. Anyone with information regarding Tringale’s whereabouts is requested to call the Maine State Police at 866-2122.

Orono police summoned a man after he went to the station Monday afternoon to pick up a lost wallet.

Officer Robert Sinclair reported that an employee at the Irving store on Stillwater Avenue called to say she had found a wallet. When Sinclair looked through the wallet to find out to whom it belonged, he discovered a fake ID.

There also was a card with the owner’s contact information on it. Sinclair called and left a message inviting John Arcaro, 19, of Old Town, to come pick up his wallet.

When Arcaro arrived at about half past noon, he told Sinclair that the ID was just a joke, and that he hadn’t tried to buy alcohol with it. He was summoned for possession of a fake ID.

Brewer police arrested a Brewer man Monday evening after he allegedly kicked and spit on one officer and bit a detective.

Officer Paul Gauvin reported that at about 6:30 p.m. he received word that Michael Boucher, 18, had just threatened a woman, saying he would strangle her if she wouldn’t give him her cell phone.

Gauvin found Boucher on South Main Street near Brimmer Street. Gauvin said that Boucher started threatening to kill him using his extensive skill in karate. When Sgt. Chris Martin arrived, Gauvin said, Boucher threw his gloves off and said, “It’s [expletive] on now.”

Gauvin said Boucher calmed down briefly after being put on the ground in handcuffs, but when the officers relaxed their hold, he kicked Gauvin in the shins and spit in his face. Gauvin put Boucher in a cruiser and went back to the station to get some duct tape.

Officer Nelson Feero and Detective Fred Luce, who were off duty and driving by, stopped to help. As Gauvin was taping Boucher’s legs to restrain them, Gauvin said, Boucher kicked him again then bit down on Luce’s thigh.

Boucher was charged with assault on a police officer, refusing to submit to arrest and criminal threatening.
