Holden police summon 2 men on drug charges

HOLDEN – Two men were summoned on drug charges after the vehicle they were traveling in was stopped on Saturday and they were found in possession of drug paraphernalia.

“Officer Chris Greeley stopped them for a headlight out and he noticed a can of beer between the driver’s feet,” said Chief Gene Worcester of the Holden Police Department on Monday.

Levant resident Ashley Rowe, 24, was driving the red 1992 Ford Tempo on Route 1A in Holden when she was stopped at 6:30 p.m. by Greeley. Passengers in her vehicle were Corinth resident Kenneth Rowe, 19, and Michael Foss, 19, of Dover-Foxcroft.

“During further investigation he found a marijuana pipe and a small amount of alleged marijuana on [Kenneth] Rowe,” said Worcester. “Foss was in possession of a marijuana pipe.”

Kenneth Rowe was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Foss was summoned for drug paraphernalia. Ashley Rowe was charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume or possess liquor.

A 3-foot-long machete also was seized during the incident, Worcester said, because it was concealed in the vehicle.

All three will stand before a judge in U.S. District Court in Bangor on Jan. 5 for the charges against them.
