WINDHAM – A 92-year-old motorist was fatally injured Tuesday when her car was struck by a pickup truck, police said.

Lilla Clark of Windham died en route to a hospital after the afternoon crash at the intersection of Route 202 and the Swett Road.

Police quoted witnesses as saying Clark apparently ignored a stop sign and ran directly into the path of the pickup, which was unable to avoid the car and struck it broadside.

The driver of the truck, Allan Pallozzi, 46, of Windham, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that police said did not appear to be life-threatening.
