EAST MILLINOCKET – The Katahdin Region Higher Education Center is holding a series of informal discussion groups for displaced workers from the GNP layoffs to discuss their experiences.

“Coffee and Conversations” will meet from 10 to 11:30 this morning. The talks are meant to provide a supportive environment for workers to discuss with peers their feelings and stresses over the past year, according to KHREC Director Deb Rountree.

Two clinicians from Community Health and Counseling Services will be available to help with the discussion, Rountree said. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

The next discussion is scheduled for 10-11:30 a.m. Dec. 18 at the center. Future groups will meet twice a month. For information, contact KHREC at 746-5741.
