BANGOR – A ceremony marking the 62nd anniversary of Pearl Harbor will begin at noon Sunday, Dec. 7, at Kenduskeag Plaza.

Paul S. Colburn, a past District 4 commander, will serve as master of ceremonies, delivering the pledge of allegiance after the Bangor High School band’s performance of the national anthem. After an invocation by the Rev. Robert Carlson will be introductions of Bangor Mayor Dan Tremble and Gail Kelly, representing Sen. Olympia Snowe. Col. Douglas Damon, retired from the Maine Air National Guard, will deliver the Pearl Harbor Day address.

After an introduction of Pearl Harbor Day survivors will be a floral salute, performance of the Navy hymn and a salute by the Bangor High School junior ROTC firing squad. The ceremony will conclude with a benediction by the Rev. Carlson.

After the ceremony, fish chowder will be served at VFW Post 1761 on outer Hammond Street, courtesy of Norman Dow.
