With a little less than three weeks to go until Christmas, the Santa’s Helper Fund has grown to $15,946.11, all of which will go to The Salvation Army. The organization is working hard to make sure that all those who need help receive it during the holidays. Please consider joining those who have already given. Every gift, no matter how large or small, will mean the world to needy families in local communities.

Thanks go out today to Wayne and Letha Spofford, in memory of their daughters Sherri and Sally, Brewer, $20; Anonymous, Ellsworth, $25; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie White Jr., Southwest Harbor, $100; Anonymous, in memory of their parents, Orono, $150; Raymond Boudreau, Machias, $50; and Anonymous, Bangor, $50.

Appreciation also goes to Thomas McLaughlin, Brewer, $50; Anonymous, Bangor, $25; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shepard, Hampden, $15; Lance, Hunter, Wyatt and Georgia Cartwright, in loving memory of Pamela Fountain, Hampden, $100; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace H. Lindahl, Carroll Plantation, $50; and Reno Thibodeau, in memory of Mom, Dad, Junior and Nelson, Van Buren, $20.

Rounding out Friday’s donations were gifts from Mr. and Mrs. George Sayko, Orrington, $20; and Bangor Emblem Club #223, Bangor, $100.

In a previous Santa’s Helper column, Shirley Robinson was listed as sending in a $15 contribution in memory of her grandson Joey Bray. She was listed from Hermon, but should have been listed from Bangor.

Donations may be sent to Santa’s Helper Fund, P.O. Box 1329, Bangor 04402-1329. Donors’ names and dollar amounts will be published in the Santa’s Helper column daily. Donors who wish to remain anonymous will be listed as such. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
