ELLSWORTH – A puppet show planned for today at the Ellsworth Public Library has been canceled, according to organizers.
The show, which had been scheduled for 1 p.m., was to feature the talents of Brooksville puppeteer Richard Merrill. It had to be canceled because of unforeseen circumstances, according to a spokesman for the Ellsworth American newspaper. The weekly newspaper sponsors the annual performance about Nasruddin, a character from Persian folklore.
There are no plans to reschedule the puppet show until next December, the spokesman said.
