ROCKLAND – A two-car collision at the intersection of Broadway and Limerock Street on Monday night injured a passenger in one of the vehicles.

Deputy Police Chief Wallace Tower said Jennifer Colburn, 30, of Rockland was traveling north on Broadway in a 1995 Mazda and passed through the flashing yellow light at what is normally a traffic light. Tower did not know why the light was not operating fully.

Glennice Simmons, 72, of Rockland was driving a 1997 Chevrolet west on Limerock Street when she collided with Colburn’s vehicle. Tower said Simmons probably stopped at the flashing red light but did not see Colburn’s vehicle.

Maud Moran, 70, a passenger in Simmons’ vehicle, was injured and was treated at the scene, Tower said. An air bag deployed in the front passenger seat, helping to protect Moran.
