HOULTON – Fire officials said a Tuesday afternoon house fire remained under investigation Wednesday. The 3:30 p.m. fire was at 33 Kelleran St. No one was at the house when the fire occurred, and three dogs at the home escaped or were rescued by firefighters.

HOULTON – Fire officials said a Tuesday afternoon house fire remained under investigation Wednesday.

The 3:30 p.m. fire was at 33 Kelleran St. No one was at the house when the fire occurred, and three dogs at the home escaped or were rescued by firefighters.

Fire officials did not know who owned the structure, but another source said Peter and Nancy Edwards lived in an apartment in the house.

Damage from smoke and fire was said to be extensive to the second floor. Officials had no dollar estimate of the damage.
