Fantasy author impresses Orono

ORONO – Laurie Rose, youth services librarian at Orono Public Library, recently took a group of 14 teenagers to the Bangor Public Library to see Tamora Pierce. Pierce is the author of a wildly popular fantasy series whose titles include “The Circle of Magic,” “The Immortals” and “The Song of the Lioness.” Her most recent book is “Trickster’s Choice.”

The group was enthusiastic about their trip to hear Pierce. She was a delightful and humorous speaker, they said. The teenagers were impressed with the personal attention she gave while signing books. For many of the teens, it was the first time they had met an author.
