Wednesday’s mail brought more envelopes from individuals and organizations wishing to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate this holiday season. Thank you all for your generous support of the Santa’s Helper Fund.
Donating today were the Bangor Board of Realtors, Brewer, $4,000; Donald Vachon, Hampden, $25; Richard and Leona Cary, Old Town, $25; Carolyn and Everett Bradeen, Old Town, $25; Michael Smart, Veazie, $25; in memory of their loving son and brother Jimmy MacKenzie from Mom and Dad, Linda, Brenda, Sharon, Butch, Lorraine, Buck, Kris, and Scott, Bangor, $25; and Mr. Powell’s Advisory Group from Deer Isle-Stonington High School, Ellsworth, $20.
Also contributing were the Hayes family, in memory of Mrs. Louise Zacharias, Brewer, $50; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Palmer, Brooksville, $50; the Philip Dohertys, Rockport, $25; Nadine and Louis Sutherland, in memory of son Bryant, Sorrento, $25; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth K. Riddell, Ellsworth, $25; and Barbara Beckwith, in memory of her cherished dog Billy, Hermon, $25.
Gifts also came from Anonymous, 89 cents; Mr. Richard McLaughlin, Machias, $25; Anonymous, Bar Harbor, $25; Volunteer Circle King’s Daughters and Sons, Brewer, $50; Anonymous, Bangor, $1,000; Michelle Sherman and Warren Suitter, in memory of Shadow, Patten, $25; Olive Buck, in memory of Alva Despres, Hampden, $20; and Anonymous, Millinocket, $50.
This brings our total to $26,233, about halfway to the goal. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far, and thank you to those who are considering the Santa’s Helper Fund as a way of reaching out to those in need.
