Great Works Internet, or GWI, Maine’s oldest and largest Internet service provider, has added eight towns to its service area.

Ellsworth, Farmington, Norway, Sanford, Old Town, Camden, Houlton and Presque Isle will be able to use GWI’s broadband Internet service. The company’s goal is to provide service to half of Maine by the end of 2003.

GWI has headquarters in Biddeford and is nearing its 10th anniversary. Its dial-up service is available statewide and its high-speed broadband service now is available in 14 of the 16 Maine counties.
