I am not a person who does a lot of gambling and I guess our governor isn’t either, but the people of Maine voted in the racino bill even though our governor was against it. He even appeared on television and tried to get people to vote it down, thinking people were too dumb to think for themselves. Then there are the lies they told about teaching children to gamble.
I was a truck driver and drove coast to coast. My wife and I would stay in Reno or Las Vegas and go to the gambling places. They don’t even let the children walk through the gambling rooms. Now that the people voted the racinos in, the governor is doing everything he can to stop it or slow down the process. He wants to set up a gaming commission to handle all the money, so they can maybe skim a little off the top for themselves. There will be six or seven or maybe more at the pay rate of $100,000 or more a year so it doesn’t go for what it is meant for. Now that he was defeated in the vote, he is doing everything in his power to slow it down.
He should be doing his job to help the people of Maine, instead of spending money before it gets to where it is supposed to go.
