AUGUSTA – Agriculture Commissioner Robert Spear has appointed seven people to the Maine Arborist Advisory Council.

Named Dec. 8, the members are Art Batson Jr., president of Lucas Tree Experts, Portland; Dave Newell, owner of Cyprus Landscaping, Freeport; Lois Stack, University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Orono; Ted Armstrong of Pownal; Tish Carr, city arborist of Augusta; Bob Levesque of Fort Kent; and Wes Davis of Central Maine Power Co., Augusta.

The Maine Arborist Advisory Council provides guidance to the Division of Plant Industry’s arborist licensing program.

Members of the council are appointed for three-year terms.
