MoneySmart classes scheduled in Lincoln

LINCOLN – Penquis Community Action Program will be offering a free MoneySmart class from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Penquis Cap, 115 Main St. Brunch will be provided.

The class uses the FDIC MoneySmart curriculum and covers a variety of topics, such as banking, opening a checking account, budgeting, saving, credit, credit card use and loans. Participants will also learn about the Family Development Account program, which enables income-eligible individuals to enroll in a matched savings program for home purchase, education or small business development. Savings are matched 2-to-1 for a maximum individual contribution of $2,000 and maximum match of $4,000. Registration is required. To obtain information, or to register, call 794-3093.
