Maine’s unemployment rate fell to 4.9 percent in November, down from 5.1 percent in October, according to Laura Fortman, state labor commissioner.

Nonfarm wage and salary jobs were virtually unchanged, falling by 200 to 603,600.

Maine’s unemployment rate has remained between 4.9 percent and 5.1 percent since July.

In the last year, Maine has lost a total of 400 jobs, which means the job market is virtually stagnant.
