ELLSWORTH – A city teenager was arrested for allegedly breaking into the James Russell Wiggins Down East YMCA, police said Tuesday.

They would not identify the 16-year-old who was allegedly caught about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. A second person, 17, also may face charges, police Lt. Harold Page said.

Stereo equipment and an estimated $100 were missing from the YMCA, located at 238 State St.

“We got everything back but the money,” Page said.

An overnight maintenance man spotted two youths inside the building, Page said. They fled when discovered, but police quickly chased them down.
