For many, the Christmas holiday has come to a close and fond memories of family gatherings, happy children, hope and love will remain for some time to come. For some, the Christmas season extends through Epiphany, which is celebrated Jan. 6.
The Salvation Army extends the Santa’s Helper fund-raiser through Dec. 31, giving people a little more time to consider a gift that will go far. These and all gifts donated to the fund will help defray the considerable costs incurred by The Salvation Army. They’ve worked hard this season to bring the very basics to those who would have otherwise gone without this Christmas season.
If you would like to contribute and make a difference in the lives of so many others, please be sure to act before it is too late. Your contribution will be acknowledged in the Bangor Daily News and your gift will go, with all other money collected, directly to The Salvation Army.
All of us associated with the Santa’s Helper Fund here at the Bangor Daily News thank you for your support. We are happy to be a part of this annual tradition and appreciate the kindness and generosity of all who have chosen to support this effort. We hope the new year brings peace, comfort, happiness and hope for all.
Donations may be sent to Santa’s Helper Fund, P.O. Box 1329, Bangor 04402-1329. Donors’ names and dollar amounts will be published in the Santa’s Helper column daily. Donors who prefer to remain anonymous will be listed as such, followed by their donation amounts. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
