BANGOR – The Bangor Symphony Orchestra invites the public to attend its 22nd annual Maine High School Concerto Competition at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, (snow date Jan. 24) at Minsky Recital Hall on the University of Maine campus.

Twenty-one exceptional high school musicians over the past 21 years have won the orchestra’s Maine Concerto Competition Annas-Cupp Award. Free and open to the public, the competition gives the public an opportunity to enjoy the talent of Maine’s youth.

This year, maestro Xiao-Lu Li has invited the competition winner to perform at the May 16 Bangor Symphony classical concert.

The competition will be followed by a reception to honor the participants. For more information, call the Bangor Symphony Orchestra box office at 942-5555 or (800) 639-3221; or visit www.bangorsymphony.com.
