WINSLOW – Mike McPike scored a pair of goals and Jamie Hardy made 10 saves as the Bangor ice hockey team rolled to a 5-1 victory over Lawrence Monday at Sukee Arena in high school action.

T.J. Vanidestine, Alex Porter and Nick Payson had the other goals for the 6-1 Rams. Brandon Prescott had two assists while Peter Hyatt and Ben Estabrook had one apiece.

Charlie Hodgdon scored for the 0-6 Bulldogs of Fairfield off a pass from Alex Miller and Allie Woods made 35 stops.

Presque Isle 8, Stearns 2

At the Forum in Presque Isle, Trevor Graves had two goals and three assists as the host Wildcats broke the game open with four goals in the second period.

Presque Isle led 1-0 after the first period before outscoring the Minutemen 4-1 in the second period to take a 5-1 lead.

Ryan Cyr and Ben Sirois added two goals each for Presque Isle, while Ben Baker and Corey Collins scored one goal each.

Tyler Pelkey led Stearns with a goal and an assist. Devin Pelkey also scored for the Minutemen.

Presque Isle goalie Bryan Fowler made 16 saves on 18 shots, while Stearns goalie Jay Kim made 37 saves on 45 shots.

Girls basketball

John Bapst 37, Medomak 36 (OT)

At the Bangor Auditorium, Katie Andrle scored 20 points and had 14 rebounds to help lead John Bapst of Bangor to its first win since the 2001-02 season.

Katie Baldus had eight rebounds with her four points for John Bapst.

Nikki Brown netted 11 points for Medomak Valley of Waldoboro.

At Lee, Marci Moors hit two key baseline jumpers with about three minutes left and Shelby Pickering made four free throws in the final minute of play as the Pandas rallied past the Dragons and remained undefeated.

Pickering poured in 22 of her game-high 29 points in the second half and pulled down 17 rebounds for 8-0 Lee, which faced Woodland for the first time since the Dragons beat the Pandas in overtime for the Eastern Maine Class D title last year. Moors finished with six points.

Woodland’s Kaitlyn Leeman tossed in 19 points and Michelle Ferry added 10.

At Husson College’s Newman Gym in Bangor, Nicole Shute scored 14 points and Meghan Porter and Nori Francis-Mezger contributed 12 apiece as Searsport upended Bangor Christian.

Searsport built an 11-point halftime lead and maintained at least a five-point lead the rest of the way.

Emily Jenkins and Kaitlyn French had 10 points apiece for Bangor Christian and Amber Leathers added nine more.

Shannon Wiggin led Hermon with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Hall chipped in with 13 points and 11 boards, while White finished with 10 points. Shannon Dobbins contributed 11 points and six assists. Marissa McLeod added six assists.

Alice Andrews and Lindsey Gordon each scored eight points for the Golden Bucks.

Sharon Drost had 12 of her team-high 14 points in the second half and Sarah Colbath chipped in all of her eight points as PVHS rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit.

Nancy Hallett had 10 points for the winners while Mindy Dolley had a game-high 17 for Penquis of Milo and Kate Hamlin accounted for 10 more.

Eric Sobey and Jon Pike had 10 points each for the Patriots.
