Thanks go out today to more people who have chosen to make a gift to the Santa’s Helper Fund. We have now raised $49,044.66, or 98 percent of our goal. We are still hopeful we can raise another $955 and achieve our goal of raising $50,000 for the Salvation Army by the end of December.

The most recent contributions come from: In memory of Augustus and Lucy Stevens, no town given, $50; Anonymous, no town given, $25; Joseph Baldacci, office Christmas party, $66.50, Bangor; Joseph Baldacci, in memory of his parents Robert and Rosemary Baldacci, Bangor, $85; Lillian Hodgdon, Bernard, $25; Anonymous, Bangor, $25; Andrew Neff, in memory of his grandparents, Edbridge and Anna Hamm, Brewer, $50; Anonymous, Bangor, $25; Brooke and Shaun Gordon, in memory of their grandparents, Helen and Harold Gordon of Lincoln, Orrington, $200; and Anonymous, Newburgh, $10.

We will acknowledge all additional donations to the Santa’s Helper Fund in next Saturday’s Bangor Daily News. If you haven’t already contributed, please consider the Santa’s Helper Fund. All monies will go directly to the Salvation Army.

Donations may be sent to Santa’s Helper Fund, P.O. Box 1329, Bangor, ME 04402-1329. Donors’ names and dollar amounts will be published in the Santa’s Helper column next Saturday, January 3. Donors who wish to remain anonymous will be listed as such, followed by their donation amounts.

Thanks again to all who have contributed to the Santa’s Helper this year. Your gift has truly made a difference in the lives of many.
