HODGDON – Jimmy Griffin scored 14 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and made seven steals as the Hodgdon High School boys basketball team remained undefeated with a 56-47 victory over Van Buren Tuesday evening.

Jeff Condon also scored 14 points, hitting four 3-pointers, for the 7-0 winners. Kirby Sanford and Bruce Currie each added 10.

Jeremy Chasse scored 13 and Tyler Lapierre 11 points for Van Buren.

At Easton Monday, Drew Farrar’s 21 points and Matt Hathaway’s 19 helped Greater Houlton Christian Academy overcome a career-high 29 points by Easton senior James Desmond.

Emery Lincoln had 14 first-half points for the winners as they built a 10-point intermission lead and then held off the rallying Bears.

Silas Kelly contributed nine points.

Mike Osgood complemented Desmond’s 29 points with 15 and Steve Hopkins added 10 more.

Matt Curtis and Mike Thurston had 12 points apiece and Cory Miller and Matt Petrie had 11 each. Miller grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and Petrie dished out a team-best six assists.

Old Town went 19-for-24 from the foul line.
