SANFORD – Tom’s of Maine is considering moving some operations into a vacant plant in the Sanford Industrial Estates.
The personal-care products maker has reached a preliminary agreement to buy the former Millrock building on Route 109, Tom’s chief administrative officer Davey Scoon said. Tom’s needs warehousing and manufacturing space.
A decision about completing the purchase will be made after the building and the company’s needs are evaluated, Scoon said.
Tom’s of Maine, which has sales exceeding $35 million, manufactures most of its products in Kennebunk. Scoon said some products, most likely toothpaste, could be manufactured in Sanford.
