Swenson, Dussault win 3rd straight titles

RUMFORD – Olympic skier Carl Swenson and Rebecca Dussault won their third national titles in a row Tuesday at the U.S. Cross Country Championships.

Both skiers won races for the second time in 24 hours.

Swenson, raised 90 miles away in North Conway, N.H., got his 11th title – and fifth straight here – by taking the men’s 10-kilometer event in 22 minutes, 58.2 seconds. He beat Olympic teammates Andrew Johnson of Greensboro, Vt., and Lars Flora, of Anchorage, Alaska.

Dussault, of Gunnison, Colo., won the women’s 5-kilometer race in 12:49.2. Sarah Konrad of Laramie, Wyo., was second.
