Ashley Marble powers Southern Maine past U-New England

BIDDEFORD – Ashley Marble scored 15 of her career-high 17 points in the first half Thursday night, and grabbed 12 rebounds and made six steals to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 74-36 women’s basketball victory over the University of New England.

Tiffany Jones netted 14 points and Meg Cressler contributed 12 for sixth-ranked Southern Maine of Gorham.

Essie McKinnon and Missy Stults led the University of New England with eight points each.

At Standish, Abbie Rice scored 21 points to help lead the Monks to victory.

Morgan Browlee added 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks for Saint Joseph’s while Megan Tetrault scored 11.
