EAST MILLINOCKET – The Economic Development Information Coalition will be host for a daylong regional economic development forum and training on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Katahdin Region Higher Education Center.
“Competing Globally, Growing Regional Economies, Creating Jobs” is part of an information dissemination project that EDIC is doing in partnership with the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The forum is one of 20 being held around the country and this one pertains specifically to Maine.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development David Sampson will attend and participate in the forum. U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud and representatives of U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are expected to attend.
The forums are free of charge, although registration is required. More than 100 economic development practitioners and policy makers are expected to attend the daylong event.
