BANGOR – As part of its 99th annual convocation “Faith Meets Faith,” the Bangor Theological Seminary has invited several scholars to discuss the challenges of interfaith relationships.

John B. Cobb Jr. is a process theologian and the author of “Postmodernism and Public Policy: Reframing Religion, Culture, Education, Sexuality, Class, Race, Politics and the Economy,” and “Transforming Christianity and the World.”

Amy-Jill Levine is an E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Professor of New Testament Studies at Vanderbilt University and is noted for her work on Christian origins, formative Judaism, and the historical Jesus.

Deborah Saunders is the founder of FIHANKRA Project Inc., a nonprofit organization that promotes cultural awareness with the continent of Africa through educational programs.

Peter Davis is the director and producer of “Hearts and Minds,” the 1975 Academy-Award winning documentary on the war in Vietnam. He is also credited with “Jack,” a made-for-TV movie about the life of John F. Kennedy.

Cobb, Levine, Saunders and Davis will speak at the convocation, which takes place Jan. 26, 27 and 28.

There is a fee to attend convocation events and for meals, and registration is required. For more information, or to register, call Sue Davenport at 942-6781, or visit the seminary’s Web site at www.bts.edu.
