Buddy Leavitt
Husson College junior forward Buddy Leavitt of Guilford was named the North Atlantic Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week. Leavitt averaged 21 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game to help lead the Braves to wins over Castleton State and Johnson State.
Chris York
Chris York of the University of Maine at Fort Kent was awarded the Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Week for men’s basketball. York averaged nine points and four rebounds during the week.
Michel Leveille
University of Maine men’s hockey sophomore forward Michel Leveille was honored as the Hockey East Rookie of the Week. Last week, Leveille scored his first career goal and had three assists. He leads the Black Bears with 19 assists on the season and is tied for the team lead with 20 points.
Kari Simpson
University of Maine at Farmington freshman forward Kari Simpson was named the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for women’s basketball. Simpson lead UM-Farmington to a 3-0 week with 13.3 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game, and two steals per game.
Heidi Fisher
Heidi Parker a junior at the University of Maine at Fort Kent was honored as the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week. Fisher averaged 17 points per game in a 2-1 week.
McKenzie Boucher
University of Maine at Fort Kent player McKenzie Boucher was awarded the Rookie of the Week honors for the Sunrise Conference. Boucher averaged six assists and helped the Bengals to a 2-1 week.
Andrew St. Clair
Former Maine Central Institute student and current Colby-Sawyer College men’s basketball player, Andrew St. Clair, was named the Athlete of the Month for December. St. Clair averaged 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks in two games.
Olivia Zurek & Morgan Brownlee
Bates College junior forward Olivia Zurek and St. Joesph’s College senior forward Morgan Brownlee were named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Players of the Week. Zurek averaged 16.3 points in a 3-0 week for the Bobcats. Brownlee averaged 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, and 1.8 steals to help the Monks to a 3-1 week.
