ORONO – The Orono Public Library recently received a grant from the Maine Charity Foundation Fund of the Maine Community Foundation. The grant will help fund two book clubs at the library – Kindred Spirits and Guys Read, Too.

Kindred Spirits is a program for girls in grades four to seven, and their mothers and mentors. The program is in its fourth year and has approximately 120 participants.

Guys Read, Too is new this year, targeting boys in grades five and six and their fathers or mentors. Currently, it has 28 members. To learn more about the programs, call the library at 866-5060.
