NEWTON, Mass. – Desirae Haines scored 16 points to help lead the University of Maine-Farmington to a 78-54 women’s basketball victory over Lasell College Saturday.

Karen Sirois had 15 points and eight assists for UM-Farmington and Kari Simpson had 14 points. Kate LaHaye scored 11 points and Sophia Stanley added 10.

At Bangor on Sunday, Jessica Fitzmaurice scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the Golden Eagles’ 58-27 win over the Blue Devils.

On Saturday, New Hampshire Technical Institute stopped EMCC 55.46.

In Sunday’s game, Natalie Foster added 13 points. Stephanie Kennedy scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Jess Trundy had four steals and six assists for EMCC.

In Saturday’s game, Melissa Gravilla notched 14 points for the Capitals of Concord, N.H.

Stephanie Kennedy netted 15 for the Golden Eagles. Jessica Fitzmaurice added 13 more.

UM-Farmington drops two

At Newton, Mass., Josh Didick scored 25 points to help lead Mount Ida College past the University of Maine-Farmington 80-67 on Sunday.

On Saturday, Lasell College beat UMF 77-70.

In Sunday’s game, Scott Chamberlain had 18 points for Mount Ida of Newton Center, Mass.

Luke Nielsen paced UM-Farmington with 17 points. Steve Ginn and Traffton Teague each scored 13 points and Travis Magnusson added 10.

In Saturday’s game, Evans Cazeau led Lasell College of Newton, Mass., with 18 points to help lead it to victory Saturday.

Martine Garland and Lindsey Caleo each netted a goal for the 10-7-3 Wildcats. Stephanie Jones, Carolyn Gordon, Rebecca Paul, Paul Thomas, and Kristen Thomas each had an assists. Melissa Bourdon stopped all 17 shots that she faced.
