Luellen leads PCHS past Pats

GUILFORD – The Piscataquis Community Pirates surged to a 36-18 halftime lead en route to a 61-38 schoolboy basketball victory over the Penquis Patriots Monday.

Josh Luellen chalked up 17 points and Tyler Erickson tossed in 12 for Piscataquis.

Justin Allen led the Patriots of Milo with eight.

At Dexter, Ashley Ames scored her 1,000th career point and Brittany Veazie broke the school record for assists in the Tigers’ romp of the Lynx.

Veazie has 269 career assists, surpassing the record of 265 held by Mandy King. Ames now has 1,003 career points.

She finished with 19 in the game. Sabrina Cote chipped in with 13 and Keriann Patterson 12. Ames’ sister Mallory added 10.
