Tastes of Tuscany
Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro in Ellsworth will hold a Tuscan Wine Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 25. Chef Rich Hanson has teamed up with his old friend George Schwartz of Vias Imports, whom he met while cooking in Boston’s North End. The two will present a mouth-watering menu paired with fine Italian wines – antipasti served with Rocca di Fabbri Satiro Sangiovese and Sartarelli Verdicchio Classico; Tuscan Fish Stew paired with Bruni Morellino di Scansano; Handcut Pasta with Rabbit Ragu paired with Chianti Classico from Castello di Meleto; and a Roast Stuffed King Hill Farm Fresh Ham paired with the star of the evening, Argiano Brunello di Montalalcino. The dinner costs $65 per person (tax and gratuity not included). To reserve, call 664-7554.
Eating in

The AICR has published a pamphlet, “Homemade for Health,” which includes recipes that can help lower your risk for cancer, as well as tips for preparing healthful, quick foods. The booklet includes such dishes as Spinach, Red Bell Pepper and Feta Cheese Salad with Yogurt Dressing, Vegetable and Brown Rice Soup, and 10-Minute Italian Chicken Stir-Fry. For a free copy, visit www.aicr.org, call (800) 843-8114, or write 1759 R St., NW, P.O. Box 97167, Washington, D.C., 20090-7167.
