BOSTON – Jason Grochowalski scored 13 points and Rashad Bell added 12 points to lead Boston University past Maine 71-65 Wednesday night, the Terriers’ 12th win in 13 games.

Boston (12-4, 6-1 America East) outscored the Black Bears 13-7 down the stretch for its six straight win over Maine (10-6, 4-3).

The lead changed hands 12 times in the second half, and neither team held lead larger than three points until Matt Turner hit a 3-pointer to put Boston ahead 63-57 with 2:26 left.

Turner had rallied the Terriers from a 52-51 deficit with a jumper and a 3-pointer on consecutive possessions to put Boston ahead to stay, 56-53, with 4:38 left.

Grochowalski made it a three-possession game by hitting a 3-pointer with 1:06 left to give the Terriers a 66-59 lead.

The Terriers had no answer for center Mark Flavin in the first half. Flavin had 20 points and eight rebounds by halftime to help put the Black Bears ahead 38-35.

Flavin scored 24 points, and pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds to lead Maine. Eric Dobson added 17 points for the Black Bears.
