Repeat shoplifter tells police she was glad to be caught

Bangor police summoned a woman after she allegedly tried to steal clothes from the Grasshopper Shop Tuesday afternoon.

Officer Rob Angelo reported that at about 4 p.m. he went to the downtown store to investigate a shoplifting complaint. An employee showed Angelo to a dressing room, where he met the suspect, Jackie Madore, 33, of Bangor. Angelo said Madore told him she was caught trying to take clothes and other merchandise out of the store without paying.

Madore told Angelo she had been doing this for a long time, but this was the first time she was caught. She said she “just got too greedy this time.”

Angelo said Madore told him she was glad she was finally caught. Madore was summoned for theft and warned to stay out of the Grasshopper Shop.

While at the house, Pinette said, they noticed a woman there with a red mark on her face and a man with a mark on his neck.

Witnesses said that the man, Cary Look, 38, of Eddington had pushed his girlfriend to the floor, starting a scuffle. Look was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

Brewer police arrested a Bangor man with a loud exhaust system early Tuesday.

Officer Jeff Gotreau reported that at about 1:30 a.m. he stopped a car on Wilson Street because it had a loud and defective exhaust. He learned that the driver, Nicholaus Watson, 23, of Bangor had a suspended license and was out on bail. Gotreau arrested Watson.

Gotreau then searched Watson’s car and found marijuana and rolling papers. Watson was charged with operating under suspension, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of conditional release.
