BANGOR – The Bangor Public Library will offer special events every day during February vacation. The events will begin with a presentation by stamp collector Ron Goddard on stamp collecting Tuesday, Feb. 17. Each participant will receive a commemorative stamp from the late 1800s

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Boy Scout Troup 10 invites the public to celebrate Scout founder Lord Baden Powell’s birthday with pizza, cupcakes, stories and games.

“Stitches for Kids” with Liza Burgoyne of Cityside Yarn will be on Thursday, Feb. 19, teaching the art of knitting. Jacob Cunningham of Hampden, author of “Little Owl Boy” will visit the library on Friday, Feb. 20.

All weekday events start a 10 a.m. Local businessman and percussion maestro Bill Miller will perform a percussion set using household items and drums at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.

The library will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, in honor of Presidents Day. For information, call the Children’s Room at the Bangor Public Library at 947-8336, Ext. 111
