DEER ISLE – A Deer Isle woman has died of injuries from a one-car crash in her hometown.

Judy Hundley, 53, was injured Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle went off the Sunshine Road while negotiating a curve, struck a tree and rolled onto its side, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department said.

Hundley was driving a 2003 Saturn sedan. She was wearing a seat belt and air bags deployed, according to a department press release.

The woman had to be extricated from her vehicle. The emergency call was answered by Deer Isle Fire Department and Memorial Ambulance.

Hundley was taken by helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she died Wednesday night.
