PRESQUE ISLE – Jason Huntley scored 21 seconds into overtime to lift Hampden Academy to a 5-4 high school hockey win over Presque Isle Saturday.
Kevin Brooks earned an assist on the game-winner for the 7-6 Broncos.
Hampden’s Steve Boutin tied the game with 23 seconds left in third period on an assist from Huntley.
Huntley finished with a goal and two assists, while Boutin had two goals. Matt Soucy and Kyle Weiland each added goals for the Broncos, while Mike Brown and Paul Morrison each had an assist.
Trevor Graves had a hat trick for Presque Isle. Erik St. Peter scored the 6-6 Wildcats’ fourth goal, while Brandon Berube and Ben Sirois were credited with assists.
Hampden outshot Presque Isle 36-23. Sophomore goalie Brendon Esquibel made 31 saves for Presque Isle in his second varsity start. Rory Woods and Ryan Richards combined to make 19 saves for Hampden.

At Brewer, Ben Caldwell and Reid McLaughlin each registered two goals to lead the Witches to victory.
Danny Shufelt added a goal for 4-10 Brewer. Aaron Saunders made 35 saves on 38 shots.
Adam Talbot, Derek Paquet and Steve May had a goal each for the 3-10 Dragons. Dennis Estes and Keith Karlson stopped 19 of 24 shots between them.

At the Kennebec Ice Arena in Augusta, Nick Payson posted two goals to lead the Rams to the win.
Alex Porter knocked in another for 9-4 Bangor and Aaron Buzzell stopped all 26 shots he faced.
Mike Lovaglio had 13 saves on 16 shots for the 6-8 Rams.

At Houlton, Tony Raymond, Dylan Huckestein and Travis Bryant each recorded two goals an assist to power the Red Riots by the Minutemen of Millinocket.
Sean Babin chipped in with a goal and three assists for the 10-3 winners and John Tuell added a goal and two assists. Chris McConnon and Jordan Dudley each contributed a goal and Keith Hedrick made 13 saves.
For 1-10 Stearns, Tyler Pelkey scored both goals and Jay Kim made 50 saves.
