New award available to schools, businesses

WASHINGTON – A new award has been established to support exemplary partnerships between schools and businesses. An estimated $2.4 billion and 109 million volunteer hours are contributed to schools by businesses each year. Through the creation of National School and Business Partnerships Award the most successful efforts will be commended and serve as models of excellence. Six exemplary partnerships will be honored during the award’s inaugural year, and the awardees will receive $10,000 for the school to support continued partnership efforts.
