Bar association elects Saco man as president

AUGUSTA – Dana E. Prescott of Saco is the newly elected president of the 3,153-member Maine State Bar Association. He will formally take his post in leading the association’s annual meeting in Rockport on Jan. 29-30.

Prescott is a partner at Prescott Lemoine Jamieson & Nelson in Saco.

A 10-year member of the MSBA’s Board of Governors, he is also a past chairman of the association’s Family Law Section.

Newly elected members of the MSBA’s board of governors include Aaron Bates, associate in the Portland firm of Norman, Hanson and DeTroy LLC, Jeffrey Lovit of Milbridge, where he maintains a solo practice, and Davis S. Wakelin, managing partner at Wakelin, Hallock and O’Donovan LLP in Portland.

The Maine State Bar Association is a voluntary professional and public service organization comprising about 90 percent of the lawyers practicing in Maine.
