HOULTON – The Schenck Wolverines hit all nine of their free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away and upset the Houlton Shiretowners 69-59 in schoolboy basketball action Wednesday night.
Brian Graham and Tyler Thompson had 15 points apiece for the winners from East Millinocket. Thompson had eight free throws. Jordan Pelkey scored 11 and Nick Bishop chipped in with 10.
Leif O’Connell led all scorers with 24 points for the Shiretowners and Mark Socoby tossed in 22.

At Milo, the Patriots stifled Derek DiFrederico after he scored 12 points in the first quarter, allowing him to only score seven the rest of the way and outscore the Minutemen 47-22 during the final three periods.
Stearns had led 21-14 after the first quarter.
Jordan Allen scored 13 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter for Penquis, who outscored Stearns 21-8 in that period. Devin Perkins notched 18 and Nick Young tossed in 14.
DiFrederico finished with 19 for Stearns of Millinocket and Matt Legassey added 10.

At East Machias, Jared Gray and Whitney Stevens each reached career milestones and Gray nailed four free throws in overtime to give the Washington Academy Raiders the win.
Jeremy Gray grabbed a loose ball to prevent a Narraguagus possession and helped send the game into the extra session where the Raiders managed to hold off the Knights.
Jared Gray and Stevens each scored their 1,000th career point in the contest as Gray finished with 27 points and Stevens put in 19. James Ramsdell grabbed 10 rebounds.
Jamie Bailey kept the Knights close in overtime when he scored nine of his 12 points. Jason Strout paced the Knights with 18 points and Zach Worcester added 10.

At the T.J. Ryan Center in Brewer, Steve Boutin knocked in a shorthanded goal to give the Broncos the only tally they needed.
Lance Ingerson added a goal and Kyle Weiland two assists for 8-6 Hampden. Rory Woods stopped all 10 shots he faced.
Dan Leighton rejected 30 out of 32 shots for the 5-9 Crusaders of Bangor.
