Codrey’s 24 points lift UMPI men past Unity

UNITY – John Codrey poured in 24 points Friday night to spearhead the University of Maine-Presque Isle to an 88-78 men’s basketball victory over Unity College.

Fabian Lennox put in 17 points and Dan Emerson 13 for the Owls.

Jeremy Kervin tallied 21 points and Grant Harter 20 to lead the Rams. Noah Schneider added 13 and Jared Erskine 10.

Rachel Larlee had 17 and Erica McGary scored 16 points for the UMPI Owls.

Christine Blakesley led the Rams with 26 points and Christy Charters had 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Justine Pouravelis had 13 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and five steals for Bowdoin and Lora Trenkle added 12 points.

Colleen Hession had 26 points and five steals for Williams and Margaret Miller had 14 points and nine rebounds.

Men’s hockey

Lowell 2, Boston U. 1

LOWELL, Mass. – Andrew Martin redirected a shot into the net at 13:15 of the third period to give UMass-Lowell a win over Boston University.

The Terriers (7-10-6, 4-9-2 Hockey East) took a 1-0 lead late in the first period when David Van der Gulik scored out of a pileup in front of the UMass-Lowell net.

The River Hawks (8-16-3, 5-1), who announced on Friday that they had forfeited five wins for using an ineligible player, tied it late in the second period when Jason Tejchma finished off a 2-on-1 break while on a power play.
