Educate young drivers

How many more young lives are going to be lost before we realize how ludicrous it is to give a license to someone with limited, if any, experience driving on ice or snow? Driving will never be risk-free, but experience certainly takes a chunk out of that risk. One suggestion might be a mandatory driver education that includes both summer and winter driving conditions.

It shouldn’t have to be a rite of passage for Maine teens, and it not only scares the hell out of me but every time we lose another young person in this way my anger increases. Enough stupidity – our children are dying.
