Player of the Week

COLLEGE

Derek Murchie

University of Southern Maine sophomore Derek Murchie was named the Little East Conference Track Athlete of the Week. Murchie won the 200 meters, ran a leg on the winning 4×200 relay team, placed second in the 55 meters, and third in the triple jump.

Trey Gadbois

University of Southern Maine sophomore Trey Gadbois was honored as the Field Athlete of the Week for the Little East Conference. Gadbois won the high jump and triple jump. His triple jump of 44-3.25 now stands as a facility record for the USM Field House.

Andrew St. Clair

Colby-Sawyer College’s Andrew St. Clair of Pittsfield was awarded Co-Player of the Week honors from the Commonwealth Conference. St. Clair averaged 18.5 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals in a 2-0 week for the Chargers.

Dwayne Ailey

Husson College senior guard Dwayne Ailey was named the Co-Player of the Week for Men’s Basketball by the North Atlantic Conference. Ailey averaged 20.5 points, 9 assists, and 5.5 boards per game in a 2-0 week in route to his second straight player of the week award.

Heather Ernest

Senior forward Heather Ernest of the University of Maine was named Co-Player of the Week for Women’s Basketball by the America East Conference. Ernest averaged 19 points, and 11.5 rebounds for the Black Bears.

Matt Waite

University of Southern Maine sophomore Matt Waite was honored as the Pilgrim Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week. Waite won three matches to improve his record to 16-1 in the 197 pound weight class.

Jen Webster

Senior forward Jen Webster of the University of Southern Maine was named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week. Webster averaged 24.5 points in two conference wins for the Huskies.

Eileen Flaherty

Bowdoin College forward Eileen Flaherty was awarded to Co-Rookie of the Week by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Flaherty averaged 12.7 points and 6.3 boards in three wins. She also had career highs in points (24) and rebounds (11) in a win over Williams.

Meg Coffin

Bates College center Meg Coffin was named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Rookie of the Week. Coffin averaged 8.3 points and 9 rebounds in a 3-0 week.
