VERONA – Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the theft of survey equipment from the Maine Department of Transportation construction site at the Waldo-Hancock Bridge.

According to Lt. Tim Cote of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, two survey prisms were taken from the site. The theft was reported last week, Cote said.

The value of the prisms, used in measuring distances, is estimated at $320.
