Noyes and Bowen, teammates on the Brewer High wrestling team, each won his second straight Eastern Maine Class A title Saturday. Noyes won the 160-pound crown, while Bowen won at 275 pounds for the Witches, who placed fifth in the team competition.
Small School (Classes C-D)
KYLE BRADFORD
A senior guard for the Calvary Chapel basketball team, Bradford scored 21 points, including the 1,000th point of his career, as the Sabers remained unbeaten with a 74-42 win against Greenville.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
STACEY SAUCIER
A junior guard-forward for the Orono basketball team, Saucier posted stellar numbers in two games. She had 21 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and three assists in a 70-44 win over Fort Kent, and 19 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists in a 57-29 victory over Searsport.
Small School (Classes C-D)
ASHLEY NEMER
Nemer, a sophomore guard-forward on the Ashland basketball team, hit four 3-pointers in the first half of Saturday’s 44-35 victory over Central Aroostook. She scored 17 points in the pointworthy win. Nemer has scored 53 points and made eight 3-pointers in the Hornets’ three most recent games.
