Brewer police charged a Lincoln man with theft after he allegedly tried to walk out of Marden’s wearing a Nike jacket Friday evening.

Officer Nelson Feero said he went to the store at about 6 p.m. and met with store security. An employee said he saw Michael Dyer, 22, of Lincoln try to take the jacket. Feero charged Dyer with theft.

Dyer said he tried to steal the jacket because his teenage friends pressured him, Feero said.

Feero added that Dyer was also issued a ticket for failing to stop for a red light. At about 6:45 p.m., Feero said, Dyer’s car ran a red light at the intersection of State and North Main streets, colliding with an SUV. Feero estimated damage to both vehicles at about $2,500 each.

Bangor police arrested a woman after allegedly finding drug paraphernalia and prescription medication in her apartment Thursday evening.

Officer Kerry Libby reported that at about 5:45 p.m. she and other officers in Bangor’s Special Enforcement Team went to the Pearl Street apartment of Brenda Gray, 44.

They searched the apartment to learn whether Gray was obeying her bail conditions.

Libby said officers found prescription pills that were not prescribed to Gray, including oxycodone tablets with the time-release coating removed. Libby said marijuana paraphernalia also was found.

Gray was arrested and charged with violation of bail conditions and possession of Schedule W drugs.

Bangor police arrested a woman Thursday night and charged her with driving under the influence.

Officer Michael Jewett reported that at about 11:15 p.m. he stopped a car driven by Kelly Maynes, 29, of Bangor, after seeing it stop at a red light and then drive through.

Jewett said Maynes admitted having three beers that night. She started sobbing, he said, when she couldn’t find her paperwork.

Jewett said Maynes was not able to recite the alphabet past the letter “T.”

After administering sobriety tests, Jewett arrested Maynes and charged her with operating under the influence.

A breath test at the station found Maynes’ blood alcohol content to be 0.27 percent.
