Small-business agency to open new offices

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Olympia J. Snowe announced today that the Small Business Administration will open two new offices, called Alternative Work Sites, in Maine to enhance efficiency of services offered to small-business owners while providing greater working flexibility for SBA employees.

The new offices, to be located in Bangor and Portland, will operate in addition to the Maine District Office in Augusta. The sites will also allow SBA District Office employees to work from locations around the state rather than being limited to one location, giving SBA’s Maine employees remote access to information and resources. At the same time, the facilities will provide for quicker, more efficient responses to the needs of small-business owners.
