ORONO – Goals by Sadie Wright-Ward, Martine Garland, and Janine Goulet in a span of 2:25 in the third period broke open a tie game and lifted the New Hampshire Wildcats to a 5-2 women’s hockey win over Maine Friday night.

The two earlier UNH goals came from Jackie Webster and Carolyn Gordon.

Maine’s Karen Droog netted the first goal of the game, and Meagan Aarts also scored.

Melissa Bourdon made 25 saves on 27 shots for 15-8-3 UNH, and Lara Smart stopped 27 of 32 shots for the 8-13-3 Black Bears.
