DEXTER – A Dover-Foxcroft man was arrested Friday night and his 1994 Pontiac was impounded after drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle.
Police said David Hutchins, 36, was seen driving a motor vehicle erratically on Route 23 before the vehicle was stopped on Water Street, according to Cpl. Alan Grinnell of the Dexter Police Department.
Grinnell said Hutchins was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he was released on a $200 unsecured bond. During the arrest, police found five Vicodin pills and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, he said. Because drugs were involved, the vehicle was impounded. Vicodin is a brand name for hydrocodone, a prescription pain reliever.
Hutchins is to make his initial court appearance on an OUI charge on April 21 in District Court in Newport.
